the good news

The Gospel isn't the basics of our discipleship, it's the foundation. This isn't something to gloss over because you've heard it before, it's the Truth to constantly dwell on, and to constantly give thanks for. We live in a broken world, corrupted by sin, constantly faced with death. We seem like a lost cause, far beyond any type of repair. And yet- our Good God , our gracious King, wasn't done. He sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, into this world. Not to be served, but to serve. He lived a sinless life, a life of healing people who didn't deserve grace, washing the feet of people who turned away from Him, and dying for people who would never accept or know His love. His death on the cross was a final sacrifice for our sin. That isn't all, though. Three days later, Christ didn't just rise out of the grave; He overcame it. Through faith in Him, and through His boundless grace, we will be resurrected too, co-heirs of our Lord Jesus (1 Corinthians 15:42). And that, friend, is the Good News and the Truth we can build our lives on!
